Mukah Strengthens Sustainability & Socioeconomic Agenda Through SDGs Programme 2024

MUKAH: The Mukah District's Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 2024 program successfully united various parties in an effort to strengthen environmental sustainability and empower the local community's socioeconomics.
Deputy Minister of Economy, Dato' Hanifah Hajar Taib, said this programme aims to promote environmental sustainability while ensuring sustainable development through various initiatives.
She also emphasised the importance of utilising the SDGs as a guide in improving the standard of living of the Mukah community.
"Today, we promote environmental sustainability and socioeconomic empowerment through the provision of aid to ensure sustainable development.
"Initiatives like this can stimulate economic growth for the long-term benefit of the community," she said in the Mukah District SDGs Programme 2024 at Tapak Kaul Kala Dana, Mukah on Saturday.
This program saw the joint activities of beach cleaning and the planting of 100 trees at the Kaul Kala Dana site as a measure to preserve and conserve the environment.
The activity involved the participation of 400 participants from UiTM, Polytechnic, CENTEXS, as well as secondary and primary school students around Mukah.
In addition, this programme proves the continuous commitment of various parties in making the sustainable development agenda a success, in line with the SDG vision to create a more sustainable, inclusive and progressive society.
Also present at the programme were Mukah District Officer Peleadzman Ahip, representative of RECODA's Chief Executive Officer Kharina Dawek, Director of EKUINAS Stakeholder Affairs Hizwani Hassan, Associate Executive of Press Metal Sdn Bhd Mansel Kasal and representative of Sibu District Forest Officer Abdul Rahman Nona. - UKASnews
